Fawad Alam's unbeaten half-century proved in vain as South Africa clinched victory on the final ball in the third one-day international against Pakistan in Dubai. Alam hit 59 from 67 balls to give Pakistan hope of pulling off an unlikely victory but they fell just short as the Proteas won by two runs to go 2-1 up in the series. Pakistan's chase got off to an inauspicious start as the loss of Mohammad Hafeez (four) and Younus Khan (nought) in successive overs left them on 13 for two. What do you say about Alam's half century? Will he be the next ODI star in Pakistani team?

No doubt Fawad Alam played in the crucial time but he scored less boundaries at the time team needed more boundaries to win. making half century on 1's and 2's is not an affective thing in ODI format. He should practice more to improve his batting. This is one of the dumbest decision by team that they make Fawad Alam a replacement of Umer Akmal.

Fawad Alam is almost playing for more than 2 years in the Pakistani team but he had not much score to his name, he had just 2 or 3 half centuries in his  career. I think their are quite a few young players which are more better than him so they will be given a chance to play.
