So basically my story starts around 3 months ago, i got off work & to my suprise my mom bought me a car! it wasn't brand new or anything it was a 2001 nissan sentra, pearl grey, i loved it but even though i am 19, i didn't have my license yet, in fact i had never been behind the wheel, but i conquered my fear and took driver'd ed and my instructor was impressed told my i was a natural. I arranged to get my license the following monday but later on that day i decided i should get some practice and wrecked it in a parking lot on my way to work. Horrible, worst day of my life cost me $1200 to replace the bumper and some new parts ridiculous, 1 month later my sister got into an accident of her own, i was with her so you can imagine how traumatized i am, unbelieveably 2 weeks later after picking my sister up from work it starts STORMING outside (p.s im for mew orleans, below sea level) my sisters driving and she drove us right into a pool sized puddle that floods my car not to the point of

  1. No jokes................but you have had some really bad luck and this has impacted your life and what you should do is look into some driving courses just to help you get your confidence back and understand what happen, and good luck.

  2. I sympathize with your feelings.  It seems in your case you've just had a lot of unfortunate coincidences. You sound like you're a safe and cautious driver so try not to blame yourself.   I know on a logical level this make since but changing your feeling and emotions are a completely different matter.  I would suggest talking it through with a psychologist so they can help you regain your driving confidence.  I would suggest looking for a cognitive-behavioral therapist.   There's actually a specific driving phobia that people can develop for a variety of reasons.  I don't know if you have an actual phobia but you definitely seem to have some anxiety related to your driving.  Either way it might help to talk it though with someone. Anyways, whatever you do try not to blame yourself.   I hope this helps and good luck!

  3. you really need to learn how to drive, and that is all

  4. maby your afraid of your car i would get  a bigger vehicle i drive a truck and im never scared granted its a 1500 but my mom has a metro i drive and im really scared sometimes cause its tiny just get something bigger and youll feel safer

  5. Accidents happen!    And to look at the bright side,  you got your share out of the  way quickly,   you're good to go for a while.

Drive when you feel comfortable with the idea.   Drive cautiously and carefully.   Wear your seatbelt,  and always remember you are the only one out there with a clue.

  6. without being patronizing to you. please get off the road.

  7. You are as the same as me...after two weeks, just two weeks after i got my license, i crashed my mom's car to power line. And guess what, momma never lat me drive since. It's three yrs from then, and i bought my own car. I was afraid that I was gonna crash on someone or something, so I go and pray to god on the first day i received the car. I said something like this "God, there are others on the road as i am driving, and please, don't let me crash them. if by fate, you want me to have an accident, let it be with myself, or wreck my own car and nothing else. There are good people on the road, and I dont wanna kill them"(kinda funny, isn't it?) So I sorta make it as an everyday prayer before i start my car, and after i pray i calm myself down, stay focused and just drive with every rule in the book (you can never go wrong with that).

Just remember that you have passed the driver's test, that means you have all the necessary knowledge of driving. The only thing you need now is confidence. That's what I did, pray makes me confident. (make your own ritual n what not that can make you confident)

So anyway, my sister took her test a few weeks ago, and two days before her test, i drive with her...and guess what...I crashed in a parking lot. Of course i made my sister traumatized, but i took the time (first and foremost) to explain that accidents happen and it is fated. And accidents depend on a lot of factors, not just the driver, but the road, the other driver, and the weather. What's important is how you handle the accident and asses damage. So as soon as i crasehd into the other person's car, i got out, assesed the damage on (her) car first, apologized, offer some help, and then asses my car's damage. (to show a good example).

So...my sister calmed down after that....took the test and got a near-perfect score...better than I did! lol...
