Fear of Whales.?

Question

Does anyone else have a fear of whales?

Orcas dont scare me-- its the huge ones with

no teeth. Just imagina swimming and something

brushing your foot and looking down and seeing

a gigantic whale underneath you. It sends me into

panic attacks.

why? they are completely harm-less

you're more likely to be bitten to death by a person than have a whale somehow kill you

that's kind of funny you're not afraid of orca's seeing as they have some big ol' chompers. it's not irrational that you're afraid of what's in the ocean but you're entering their element when you go in the ocean. to get over your fear why to go to your local aquarium and dive with the whales and dolphins there.

Well, I guess I would see how that might be weird, but not /frightening/. Besides, whales live in the middle of the ocean, so I doubt you'd be swimming there.

The sperm whale was hunted to much in the 1800's it nearly went extinct. Some are still hunted today (like the pygmy whale) and so whales have a lot more to fear from us than you from them.

So please take some time to appreciate these creatures while they're here!

BTW... something that might help your fear of whales would be to learn more about them. (or, if you're rich enough) you could go on a whale-seeking adventure so watch them. Sometimes knowing more about the things you fear can help.
