  1. hi

dont worry i used to be really scared aswell,( i used to think the plane was going to be hijaked all the time). Planes are so safe now that it is basically impossible for anything to go wrong. You can buy calming spray from boots that you spray in your mouth that is ment to be relaxing and calming. Just think that there are loads of other people on the plane with you aswell so it's not like your the only one aboard... and you will be surprised to seee how many people are scared too!

  2. have a drink before helps me

  3. try using bach rescue remedy. i use this when i fly as im always scared about getting clots on a plane. it eases you and makes you feel more relaxed. try using this then closing your eyes and listening to your i pod :)

Good Luck.. Try not to worry ;)

  5. Go to your local airport & explain your fear ,my mate is the same he went an spent a few hours with the staff they asked him all sorts of questions trying to pin point the reason for his fear.He was advised not to sit by the window or over the wings& to play soothing music & ask his GP for something to relax him.

On the day the staff were brillant, and he was able to stay calm & these days he's no were near as fearful as he use to be.

  6. I have a fear of flying as well and i find bose noise cancelling headphones and classical music help.

  7. What is it you are afraid of?  Crashing?  You are far more likely to get killed crossing the road than being involved in an aircraft crash.  Just think there are hundreds of thousands of flights every day - how many crashes happen every day??!!  Do you think the air crews are intending to crash when they take off?  They are a highly trained team and used to dealing with all sorts of eventualities, you really needn't worry at all.  Get yourself a good book or some music, sit back and enjoy the flight!

  8. This fear is totally irrational, you have far more chance of being involved in a car accident, thousands of people a day die on the roads around the world but I bet you don't think twice about getting into a car. Just think about the fun you will have at the end of your trip and enjoy your holiday

  9. I am totally the same to the point of pure screaming fear...its awful!  Im going to get something from the Doctor next time to calm me down!

  10. im scared of flying to...one becoz i think i will crash and 2 becoz i have a problem with my ears that make it excrusiating agony everytime i fly. i find this helps

    1) dont bag a window seat, i find im much more scared if im constantly looking out of the window

    2) put your favourite relaxing tunes on your ipod and listen to them and close your eyes

    3) take a magazine with you to read

    4) say hello and greet the people flying the plane when you get on, i find it helps to know whose hands my fate is in

    5) for your own piece of mind sit by an exit

and take deep breaths, try not to think about it for weeks before as you wont get worked up so much, i once booked a flight a day before i went on holiday, i didnt even have time to get scared about it and it was one of my carmest flights ever :)

  11. I have travelled to the other side of the world and back but still fear flying, I meditate and that really helps, please don't instill your fear of flying in your son for goodness sake.

  12. Relax. Download some nature sounds on your ipod to make you feel like your still on the ground. Maybe take 1 pill of melatonin and wear earplugs so you can sleep through the flight.
