i just received my permit and my dad has been taking me driving for the past few days. i practiced going from the middle school, elem. school, and high school parking lots...but you only have to cross the road once. i was doing very good so my dad convinced me into trying out the road, just going up a mile and then back. i do fine but when another car comes in the opposite direction i freak out and almost go off the road. im afraid that i am going to be too close to the other car, especially a large truck. also i am to afraid to go over 25....any help or tips?

  1. its normal, know that they see you and you see them, do not swerve in the lane on the right of you, or else you can cause a accident.

just make sure you can see the yellow marks on the street and stay 2-3feet away from them with your left tire, it will look like your close but your far enough away.

about the 25mph thing, just go the speed limit, you will find it isn't scary at all.

keep calm, stay alert and you will be fine, you WILL make mistakes, everyone does, learn from them accept them and move on.

i just got my licence 2years ago, and i drive better than most on the road, but while learning i was a idiot.

  2. You should take drivers education.

  3. Are you sure you want to learn to drive right now? You just might not be ready.

Just keep the car to the outside of your lane and you should be just fine.

When people are learning to drive, there is a little nervousness but you shouldn't be genuinely afraid. Can you wait another year?
