Features available with a pay as you go Blackberry?

Question

Hi, I want to buy a Blackberry but only on a PAYG contract. Features I want to use are texting and calls, as well as the PDA features to organise myself. I don't need to receive emails or to synchronise with any email servers and other peoples' diaries.

Is this possible on PAYG? Also, can I run the Blackberry autonomously without needing to synchronise with a PC based calendar?

Dont know if you can get one as a Pay as you go, but if you can then you should be able to use all the features you mention, try getting one off ebay
