  1. Yep, you got them. You can check them right here at this web site called - Upper-course features -

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesiz...

Upper course is where the youthful stage of the river occurs.

    –  'V'- shaped valley - yes

    –  small river channel - yes

    –  gorge - yes

    Upper-course features:

    - steep gradient

    - narrow river channel

    - steep sided V-shaped valleys

    - interlocking spurs - like a zipper in appearance

    - rapids

    - waterfalls and

    - gorges

  2. I would have answered rapids, falls, and rocky bed, and been just as wrong.  Upon re-reading the question, I can think of at least three rivers which do not fit your criteria or mine:

    Amazon

    Mississippi

    Nile

Elkhorn (which you've probably never heard of)

At least one tributary of each of these rivers originates in nearly flat land, some at ponds or lakes.

Criteria which MIGHT apply to all rivers (when not in flood) are:

    clear water

    small channel

    small flow

  3. yes they are correct.

    i think also waterfalls too.

i seem to remember rapids being in the middle course but I've not done geography since my higher exam in may lol
