Features of Small Business? Difference Between Big and Small Enterprise?

There are a lot of definitions of a small business...here are two basic ones that are commonly accepted

Businesses employing fewer then 100 employees.

or

Business with Gross Revenue of less then $5m, but this can vary by industry. For example a hot dog stand doing over $5M is very impressive but if you build bridges and only have Revenues of $5m you're in big trouble.

The majority of businesses (98% in my state) qualify as a small business by these definitions.
