I am just wondering if I understand this correctly. If you have a T.V. that is cable and or satalite dish compatable you do not have to worry about this change? From what I can tell it is only T.V.'s that still use "air waves" and attena's to receive signals? Soooooooooo, if your T.V. is hooked up to any type of cable either for a satalite dish or cable tv your ok? Is this correct?

  1. Yes.. that is correct!  This is only for the rabbit ear TV's for ones picking up their local stations.  IF you have cable, dish or anything else, you are fine.

  2. yupp

  3. You are correct but we are all mislead .I live in a senior area , all buried cables,  power lines etc.  Many of the houses are like mine we have several Tv Sets, some which are blazing new, Plasma, LCD  some are older may work per the experts(?)  And others old but working on the cables lines with all the newer TVs. I have 3 different aged sets all which work off the cables in my house,  only the plasma has a DEF channel box but the older 2 work from cable and one was on Rabbit ears years back.

I have send E-mail wondering about this, if  nothing else I will buy one or 2 of the wonderful 60$  new boxes and hope for the best. Wife has the answer----buy all new sets!!!!

  4. you are correct.  only people using antennas will need a converter box, the government is giving away $40 coupons/2 per household in order to purchase the converter, which will cost about $50
