Febby Angguni tames Hyo Min Kim to surge into Women’s Singles final at India International Challenge
Indonesia’s in-form player Febby Angguni made her presence strongly felt in the arena as she secured her berth in Women’s Singles final after defeating Korea’s Hyo Min Kim in semi-final encounter at Tata Open India International Challenge 2012 on Saturday,
December 15, in India.
The un-seeded Febby, who remained incredibly confident in the arena throughout the championship, continued her staggering run and easily trounced her Korean challenger while consuming 43 minutes in the arena.
Malaysian lady was in smashing form on court as she did not spare any chance for her opponent to fight back and eventually thrashed her in straight sets with a dictating margin on the board.
On the contrary, Hyo Min failed to show her brilliance in the arena as she could not play her normal game against the in-form Malaysian player and ultimately crashed out without creating a strong impact.
The unmatched speed and well directed strokes of Febby helped her to take control of the pace of rallies right from the opening points of first set and she pushed her rival on back foot easily.
Until the end of starting half, it was the in-form Indonesian lady who stayed in commanding position as she easily took a wonderful lead on the board.
After the one-minute break, the match proceeded in the same fashion as Febby did not lose her focus on court and maintained her supremacy.
Indonesian lady sailed smoothly in the arena as she did not face any considerable trouble and eventually grabbed the opening game with a smashing 21-10 margin on the board.
In the following set, Hyo Min was again in problem as she received a cruel treatment from her Indonesian rival who was on a different level on court.
Febby entertained the crowd with her unparalleled craft that assisted her to keep pressure on her Korean challenger and managed to set up a reasonable lead until the break.
After the break, the aggressive Indonesian shuttler played positive badminton and managed to end up the second game with a three-point margin of 21-18.
The impressive Febby easily established her mark over Hyo Min by winding up this Women’s Singles semi-final in straight games with a superb 21-10 and 21-18 score on the board.
