Febriyan Irvannaldy beats Yeoh Kay Bin at the 2011 Indonesia International Challenge

Indonesia’s Febriyan Irvannaldy defeated Malaysia’s Yeoh Kay Bin in an epic battle of the Men’s Singles first round at the Indonesia International Challenge 2011, in Surabaya, Indonesia, on Tuesday, July 19.
The Indonesian played remarkable badminton against the Malaysian and won the rubber-set fight after working really hard throughout the entire match. Febriyan took 75 minutes to get rid of Yeoh Kay, who also displayed a wonderful game in the whole fight.
Right from the start of this Men’s Singles fight, both shuttlers worked hard to get an upper hand in the match by playing at their best. The exchange of long rallies grabbed the attention of the big crowd, which was supporting the Indonesian.

The second set was the most thrilling fight of the day, as both shuttlers played a game of the highest standard. The Malaysian was competing closely this time and the score was tied until it reached 20-20, where the Indonesian made an unforced error and lost the game with a 20-22 margin in 26 minutes.
The final game of this Men’s Singles battle was absolutely breathtaking, as both shuttlers were playing at their maximum speed. The superb exchange of long rallies and powerful smashes entertained the cheering spectators. Until the break, no shuttler managed a clear advantage as both played at the same level.
After the interval, the score progressed closely and reached the crucial stage of 21-21. The Indonesian then worked well and clinched the remaining two points in a row to win the set with a dramatic margin of 23-21, in 29 minutes. The 75-minute contest ended with a 21-15, 20-22 and 23-21 score on the board.
