  1. All you need is a freeview box, and some kind of aerial! You don't really need anything else apart from this, as long as you have the right connections from your freeview box to your TV, but that'll all be in its instruction book.

  2. Over the air broadcasts?  Same antenna, same cables, same everything except that you need a TV with a digital tuner.  If your TV only has an analog tuner, then you need a set top converter to change the digital signal to an analog signal.

One exception:  If all you've been picking up is VHF channels (2 - 13), then you MAY need a UHF antenna as they will all change to UHF.  Most rooftop antennas sold in the last 20 years are combo VHF-UHF.  Rabbit ears have a loop between the rabbit ears for UHF.

There is NO such thing as digital antennas or digital specification cables, no matter what the snake oil salesmen try to tell you.

If you're on cable or satellite, you can choose digital or analog, HD or standard, as you like, since they're required to continue providing standard TV through 2012, with their own converters.
