February 2009 digital question please help!!?

ok i have a satillite and tv but the tv isnt so new its like made in the 90's and i dont have hdtv programing does that mean i wont be able to see tv in 2009 or am i ok.

  1. Since you subscribe to satellite, you really don't have to do anything in February.

    The transition affects only full power over the air stations that you would receive with an antenna.  Cable and Satellite should still support the old style analog TVs until about 2012.

  2. No not at all. There are hardly any channels in HD yet. Just carry on as you are. They are just switching off terrestial analogue tv.

  3. HDTV stands for High Definition Digital Television.

    You should be watching you satellite TV as a digital signal anyway , it is just in Standard Definition , not high definition.

    As long as you keep your Pay-TV service going you will be fine for 2009 , but as soon as you disconnect it you will need to purchase a digital receiver box to continue watching TV.
