Fed up Hauritz discards his cricket gear
Australian spin bowler Nathan Hauritz decided to relieve himself of the negativities surrounding his exclusion from the Ashes squad by giving away his cricket gear in a yard sale.
A local newspaper reported that Hauritz discarded his “heavy woollen Test sweaters” and sportswear in a cardboard box as he sat with the box in front of his Coogee flat. He organized a garage sale in which he was selling his old Test jumpers, some training
gear, his http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 official jumpers, and some long and short sleeves woollen wears.
There were some items and pieces from his home as well including vases and wooden furniture. The garage sale also included items such as old cricket books and an old bat.
Hauritz who has been open with his disappointment over being left out for the 2010/11 Ashes tour between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and England simply stated “I don’t play for them [Australia] anymore.”
Hauritz, who is the most under-performed player of the Aussie camp, was dropped for a relatively inexperienced spin bowler Xavier Doherty who failed to create anything but problems for the Australian team in the Brisbane and Adelaide Test match against England.
After months of speculation, the Australian selection panel named a mind-boggling 17 member squad in which Hauritz was included. However, the 17-man squad was trimmed down to 13 member squad amidst much criticism by former players and Hauritz himself.
Hauritz even claimed that his son became depressed due to the reason that he was discarded by the squad even though he has being performing much better than Doherty and had more experience than him.
Australian team woes are continuing as they have added an uncapped player http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Beer-c1949 who only has five first class game experiences.
Legendary leg-spinner Stuart MacGill said that the selectors are giving clear signals to Hauritz saying that he is never playing Test cricket again.
Hauritz has been quoted to saying as “I had a good crack there for a while but things did not go my way,” conceding that the selectors might be looking into different aspects of his bowling and he himself needs to improve a lot.
Hauritz has played 17 Tests for Australia as had his first call up in the 2004 season where he picked up five wickets against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
