FedEx, I received a package under a different name, but said it wasn't mine..returned it...

Question

A FedEx shipper came by a big truck and delivered a package to me under a name I never heard before, but the address is correct (my house address). I told them it isn't mine, so they took it back, and left. I received a phone call from FedEx (unknown caller ID) about that package, and I said there's no one under that name. I told my dad and then he told me that THAT NAME is suppose to be shipped to my house. We called 1800Go-FedEx, they told us about where to pick it up, but when we went there, they can't find it (no tracker#). I don't have a tracking number, I mean how can I get it, if I didn't get the package. (Dad's friend order something online using his name but to my house address).

How can I get the package WITHOUT the tracking number, but under the NAME of the package?? is there a site I can track the name?? Thanks

What you could do is have your dads friend call the shipper and ask for the tracking number. Once you get the tracking you call 1800 gofedex give them the tracking number and ask for them to put a note in the network for them to hold it in the station. The only person who could pick it up is the person who purchased it which is your dads friend, he also needs to have a valid gov issued id like passports drivers license, or military id, that's that.
