I am going to get another 500 rounds of federal 5.56 but the site I buy stuff from has the normal brown box XM193 and this black box "American Eagle" XM193C. Is there a difference? The black box is $1 or so more per 100 rounds.

  1. The AE C ammo will be military brass with a nickle colored primer.  Stuff looks like a cheap reloads - but they are factory - and will shoot fine.

A friend showed me a box a few months ago - we thought they were tampered with......... and do so did everyone else at Federal we emailed the digital pics to.  But when the photos made it to the production line - the said it was theirs.  Looks like p**p - shoot fine.  You get what you pay for.

    Hope this helps

  2. No difference.  Both are the same spec.  C means commercial....  Just a different box....
