Question:

Federal Application Info?

My brother's wife text me yesterday ask me my WORK address. We do not get along. She is saying this is for a federal application that my brother is filling out to work for a police department in Mississippi. Not that this is private information but I don't understand why they would need my information for his application. It seems a little funny to me. Has anyone ever heard of this? I have not given out this information or any other information regarding this.

  1. First off, If he is applying for a police department then it isn't FEDERAL, unless it's with the military or FBI or CIA. If he is actually applying for a FEDERAL job then part of the hiring process is to give background information for a background check (it involves interviews and letters with people who can verify that all information is correct). However, I don't see why your work address would be necessary and you can always choose to not be a part of the hiring process. Say that your home address is fine, and whoever needs the information about his background can call you about it when the time comes for that.
