Is the Federal Income Tax mandatory? What law states such and when was this law passed? HA HA HA

Title 26 of the US Code is the law.  The current Tax Code, as amended, was originally passed in 1954.

If your income exceeds the filing requirement amount for your filing status, you must file and pay any tax due.
