Federal Oil renews sponsorship deal with Gresini Racing Moto2 – MotoGP news
Federal Oil, the Indonesian motorcycle oil giant, has renewed the title sponsorship for the Gresini Racing Moto2 team in 2013.
In the 2012 season, Federal Oil backed up Gino Rea, the 23-year-old Gresini rider, throughout the season. Rea finished the 2012 Moto2 Championship 21st on riders’ point standings with 21 championship points to his name.
In the upcoming season, Gresini Moto2 team will again have Federal Oil as their title sponsor. As a result of the new sponsorship deal signed between Federal Oil and Gresini Racing Moto2, the 21-year-old ‘home star,’ Doni Tata Pradita, also gets a ride with
Gresini Moto2. Pradita will be making his debut in the Moto2 class in the upcoming season with Gino Rea as his teammate.
Commenting on the deal between Federal Oil and Gresini Moto2, Rudy H. Husada of Federal Oil seemed in high spirits.
He said, “We are really happy to renew our agreement as sponsors of Gresini Racing in 2013 Moto2 World Championship.”
Talking about Pradita’s entry to the team, he said, “For 2013 we wanted to give the project a more Indonesian dynamic and provide Pradita with the opportunity to compete in Moto2 class. I am sure that Team Gresini Moto2 will do Indonesia proud and give the
whole nation something to get excited about.”
Pradita, the first Indonesian rider ever to have participated in a 250cc Grand Prix Championship race, also seemed excited about the prospect of competing in Moto2 World Championship.
The young rider said, “I want to thank Federal Oil and Gresini Racing for offering me the opportunity to compete in the Moto2 World Championship in 2013. I can't disguise my excitement at joining one of the biggest teams in the world.”
The Moto2 World Championship starts on April 7, 2013 in Qatar. With the title sponsorship deal finalised, Rea and the new Gresini team member Pradita, are all set for the championship run.
