the dress code? Says appropriate business attire (men wear suit & tie). I asked around here at work and several men don't even own a suit. Being female, do they expect me to wear a dress?? I don't think I even own one anymore! What would you wear and how many of you men do or do not own a suit these days?

  1. I've been before.I just wore a nice pant suit,,not a dress.

and take or wear a sweater or jacket,,it's like ice in those court rooms in Texas...now we know where our money's going.

If the guys don't wear a coat the court gives them one to wear. It's just a custom or people would show up in necklines down to their belly buttons, and hemlines up to their thongs.Don't tell me you know no one who has been to jury duty.and be prepared to tell them all about yourself out loud,,in front of the other jurors..your name, age, occupation, spouse's name, what town you live in,etc...

  2. Federal Courts are more formal than state Courts.  If you have some nice slacks and top that will do fine.  Don't wear cutoffs or flip flops.  You really ought to invest in a dress for stuff like funerals and Federal Court.

  3. I was called for Federal Court in Chicago, we were not told how to dress. I arrived wearing dress slacks and Polo shirt. Had a great time. The Federal Courts seem to treat you better than the state/county courts do. Enjoy
