Federer and Nadal fitness rumours
Two of the greatest tennis players of all times, Roger Federer as well as Rafael Nadal together have grabbed a total of twenty major titles out of the previous twenty-two Grand Slam tournaments. However, the previous two years has also experienced a couple of injuries as far as the top ranked players are concerned.
Every time a big player goes down as a result of injury, sports experts all over the world get another topic to debate upon and it creates a lot of hype beyond any measure.
The two major names in the game of tennis, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer can’t be discussed without giving a reference to their on and off injuries that has undoubtedly affected their game in one or the other way. Rafael has serious problems with his knees as they are not capable of supporting him all through the season. Federer on the other hand, has a critical back that does not allow him to remain fit all the time.
However, as far as the consistency of the Spaniard tennis ace, Rafael Nadal is concerned, it is truly one of his most outstanding qualities without any question. The 2010 Wimbledon champ has never withdrawn from a match so far in his career and despite his tag of being an injury prone player, he is a real fighter on the court. However, the Spaniard does not get enough recognition for it.
Talking about their professionalism, it can be gauged from the fact that both of them have great respect for each other as they are also alike in a variety of manners. Both the players give almost identical remarks prior to the start of the match like the one, “it will be a tough match and I will have to fight really hard in order to win it”.
However, as far as their injuries are concerned, no one can deny the fact that both of them have faced numerous fitness problems over the years as a result of their injuries. However, a funny thing is that Federer’s trainer, a few days ago stated, while commenting on his fitness that “he is super fit”. How can a player be "super fit" and still be fighting devastating back injuries at the same time?
In a similar manner, Rafa’s camp was also trying to overshadow his injuries, commenting that it’s nothing serious at all.
Another player, Jaun Martin Del Potro, who won the United States Open competition, last year remained out of the tennis scene for most of the 2010 as a result of his injuries. However, recent news from his camp stated, “he will participate in the upcoming US Open”. Peter Bodo stated as if his participation is hundred percent confirmed. It created a new hype, however, everyone got to know just a few days ago that Del hadn’t even touched his racket up till now and the news was nothing more than a mockery.
Therefore, all this shows how much the inside reality differs from the outside world. A lot of sports admirers are totally against this "hype machine" that glosses over the inside reality.
Anyhow, as far as the class and talent of both Rafa and Federer is concerned, there is definitely no question about it. Therefore, sports lovers enjoy watching them play on the court until they retire from their professional life. Moreover, we all hope that both the players remain fit and healthy in order to perform at their very best in their future matches.
