  1. i don't think he has average performance. he SURELY has better performances than most of other players. he is just not in his best form yet

  2. Djokovic and Nadal also lost in the first round of master series tournaments this year and no one cared. Federer always gets blasted by the media when he loses as if the world is coming to an end. It's too early to write Federer off...not until he starts losing on a consistent basis to lousy players at least. The year is barely half over. Still the olympics, 3 master series, a major, and the masters cup to play.

  3. Yes, I'm a little frustrated too.

He did make it to two Grand Slam finals though so it's not necessarily a bad year, just a bad year for Federer.

He has been rattled by Nadal and has lost a bit of confidence in his game. He needs to get his act together mentally in order to get competitive again.

I hope he can do it. He's still a very good player.

  4. Pahhhleeeeze.

Are you for real? Its ridiculous. He wasn't playing his best, that's for sure, but in the 3rd set he picked it up a notch. He was back, baby!

HE WAS IN THE FINALS, or are you fishing for haters to jump on your band wagon?

  5. he has mono which lasts all year plus he saving his energy for the olympics

  6. yes, seems like every match is a struggle. no more run away, convincing wins any more.

i think all players targeted him for the last 3-4 years and want to take him down, while all other players improved he does not improve much.  I think the most improved player is Nadal.  He proves that he can takeon Federer on any surface.  I believe Federer is very stubborn, he refuse to change his strategy and really, he can use a coach!

i want to believe he can still turn around and shake the losing trend - in 2009.  he needs a soul searching and get a coach, for God sake!
