Federer safe in No. 1 for 2009?

With the Australian Open 2010 title under his belt, Roger Federer stretches his lead over his rivals in the rankings. You’d have to pencil Federer in for at least one more Grand Slam title for the year (and that’s being conservative) so he’ll be hard to overhaul from there. Add to that Rafael Nadal’s fitness woes and even at the conclusion of the Australian Open, it looks as though the Swiss is on his way to another year spent at the top.
