  1. If Nadal wins Wimbledon, and Federer loses in the 4th round or earlier, then Nadal will take over the #1 spot.  It probably won't happen that way (the part about Federer losing in the 4th round or earlier), but it will be exciting to see how it all plays out.

  2. It depends how Federer fare in Wimbledon.  If Federer lost in the early rounds in Wimbledon (maybe before 3rd round) and Nadal wins the title.  Nadal will become world no.1.  This is because currently there's a big gap in ranking points between them.  Currently, Federer has 6675 points, Nadal has 5585 points.  When you win a grand slam, you get 1000 points, runner-up gets 700 points.  Since Federer and Nadal are the last year finalists,  they have to defend their points.  Nadal will only become world no.1 if the scenerio below happened:

Federer lost in the 1st round, he'll lost 1000 points.  Nadal wins Wimbledon, he get extra 300 points since he's one step better than his previous year result - runner-up.

    Nadal current points 5585 + 300 = 5885 (World No.1)

    Federer current points 6675 - 1000 = 5675 (World No.2)

Possible but chances are slim.  Nadal remains as world no.2 even after he won French Open is because he has to defend his points since he's the defending champion plus Federer is in the final again.  Therefore, no changes in ranking points means no changes in ranking.

  3. yes

  4. I think that Federer will stay #1 for a while, I mean, I think that he is much better than Nadal.

  5. it depends on how many not-so-famous tournaments each wins to determine who has the most points.

  6. Fed is still no.1 , but he seems to be in decline.

  7. Fderer is the king of the grass  well but if nadal beats him on grass at wimbeldon then i think he may become the champion of this game and also #no.1

  8. Federer will still hold the number 1 spot even if he loses Wimbledon to Nadal in the finals. Since they were both in the finals last year Federer losing in the finals won't give Nadal tons of points.

  9. Naturally, he is, after all, the greatest tennis player of all time.

Still, age takes its toll on all men. If you're going to compare him with Nadal, then you might wish to take into account just how old Federer is. Seeing someone like him still at the top of the rankings should clear any lingering doubts you all have in your minds about just how good he is.

  10. I would say that if Nadal wins Wimbledon he will be #1. He completely dominates Federer on clay. Once he beats him on grass he will be the undisputed all-around champion in tennis. Federer is good, but he has some real weaknesses that Nadal has capitalized on. McEnroe used to call Federer the best ever but he doesn't say it anymore. Even a casual tennis fan can see that Nadal owns Federer. He makes Federer his b*tch. He even thinks it is funny that he dominates Federer. He was laughing one time in the tunnel after the match when someone asked him why he is so good against Federer.  How can someone be the best ever if they can't consistently beat all of their opponents?

  11. Well, Federer has got the 2nd spot as best hard court tennis player now(behind Novak Djokovic) and he is 2nd best on clay (Rafael Nadal)...he hs been easily undisputed as #1 on grass courts, but if someone takes THAT from him, he will have a hard time winnng a grand slam title again( I thinkhe is past his prime, but might win Wimdledon, US open, and Australian Open, but he has no chances on clay). But if you mean #1 as in RANKING, he is still way up on the #2 and #3 i the rankings, but if his slump continues throughout the rest of the year and he exits some grad slams early, then Novak or Nadal will take his spot as the new #1!!!!!

  12. Yes.

Roger Fedderer will always be number 1, unless Nadal can beat him in more than 2 matches other than Wimbeldon.

The two of them are great tennis players.

  13. If Nadal wins Wimbledon he will not become the #1 player in the world. That is because every year the points that you earn in this year replaces the points that you earned last year. For example, if you make it to the finals of a tournament the previous year, and then the next year you win the tournament you get the points for winning the tournament this year, but you will lose the points that you got last year for making it to the final.

  14. I dont think so

  15. No! there's a big gap between them in the rankings.

  16. Fed will always be 1 and Nadal 2 unless Nadal can find a way to consistently beat him off of clay. Nadal has hardly any points to gain when the clay season comes since he's practically the defending champion in every tournament he plays, so there's only points to lose. The only way he can gain ground on Fed is if he manages to consistently make the finals of big hardcourt tournaments and and then defeat Fed in the end.

  17. he is still no.1 and he has to win one more grand slam to be no.1 this year... I think and I hope he`ll make it.

  18. Yeah, and i think it'll be a while before he slips to number 2.

  19. i dont know
