Question:

Federer vs Blake? Olympics?

Federer lost in two sets to Blake.

Does this mean his reign is over?

Or is this just the continuing run of his recent failures?

Can he bounce back in time for the US Open?

  1. I really hate to count Federer out of the US Open, however his slump has continued and not enough time for the Open.

It just might be a Djokovic/ Nadal final....although I would love to see a Federer/Nadal final.

  2. i think this is his decline since last year was when he was at his prime now its beginning to show that his Reign as the best player has now changed to Rafa nadal. I don't think that he can bounce back in time for the u.s. open he will probably lose either the first week or maybe the second week. but never could be the champion.

  3. he is a champion and he cant written off that easily... He is a master and i'm  100 % sure he will bounce back strong. he is ease pete's record and would create a new record on his own

  4. i don't think we should kill him so soon.-

fed is having a crappy year, every player has them.-

    he just need to recover.-

  5. I dont think federer will win the U.S open. This has been a terrible year for him. I'm pretty sure that he'll be better next year.

  6. Hmm, its hard to say how Federer will fare in the US Open.

I read a really interesting blog post as to why the Olympics meant to so much to Roger Federer, can find it here if you're interested:

I think that as such the disappointment of being eliminated so early on might be hard for him to stomach and could well affect his performance in the US Open. He was already upset with the crazy scheduling for the Olympics (was scheduled to play 6 matches in 4 days) so I think that may also have influenced the way he played.

But all things said, he's a professional player with tons of experience and if anyone can bounce back from this its him, I wouldn't put it past him to reach the finals for the US Open and win it, but it won't be easy and would be an immense achievement.

  7. i think he already peaked the last few years. since he lost that long wimbledon final to nadal. he's been playing average. i think he will get to the semis of the US open

  8. federer era is over for sure , he might still win few grand slams were in era is over

  9. Well i think the us open is gunna sum up his year with a quarter-final exit, however i do believe if he looks at tapes from the past that made him so dominant and practices hard he will start the new season great. I think he should use a bigger raquet, he is using the smallest one on tour and its time to change it up.
