Federica Pellegrini and Radoslaw Kawecki edge through their races in Rome: Sette Colli Trophy 2011
Federica Pellegrini, Radoslaw Kawecki, Elizabeth Simmonds, Rikke Moller Pedersen, Coventry, Roland Schoeman and Gregorio Paltrinieri impressed the arena as they posted their record times at the Sette Colli Trophy in Rome, Italy, on June 19.
In the initial race, Pellegrini snatched the Women’s 200m freestyle crown with a sterling time of 1 minute and 56.85 seconds. Securing silver in the corresponding race was Zsuzsanna Jakabos with a time of 1 minute and 57.68 seconds, whereas, Joanne Jackson
snared bronze in 1 minute and 58.06 seconds.
Capturing gold in the Men’s 200m back-stroke was Radoslaw Kawecki with a sterling time of 1 minute and 58.32 seconds, while Sebastiano Ranfagni secured silver in 1 minute and 58.83 seconds. Nick Driebergen earned bronze in 1 minute and 59.78 seconds.
In another event, Elizabeth Simmonds claimed the golden crown in the Women’s 200m back-stroke final with a victorious time of 2 minutes and 08.26 seconds. Placed second in the respective meet was Kirsty Coventry with a time of 2 minutes and 09.59 seconds
for her 7th spot in the world rankings, while Jenny Mensing earned bronze in a time of 2 minutes and 11.24 seconds.
In the Women’s 200m breast-stroke event, Rikke Moller Pedersen retained top spot with a sterling time of 2 minutes and 26.20 seconds. Snaring second spot in the swim was Chiara Boggiatto with a time of 2 minutes and 28.38 seconds, whereas, Alia Atkinson
grabbed third place in 2 minutes and 29.57 seconds. Jenna Laukkanen wound up fourth in 2 minutes and 29.89 seconds.
Next, the Women’s 200m Individual Medley crown was taken over by Coventry with a captivating time of 2 minutes and 11.81 seconds. Placed second in the race was Evelyn Verraszto with a time of 2 minutes and 13.70 seconds and Kathryn Meaklim settled third
in a time of 2 minutes and 14.98 seconds.
Meanwhile, Roland Schoeman won the Men's 50m butterfly event with a time of 23.60 seconds and Gregorio Paltrinieri captured the Men’s 1500 freestyle meet in 15 minutes and 04.90 seconds.
