Olympic champion, Federica Pellegrini seized gold medal of the Women’s 400m freestyle on first day of the 2012 Sette Colli Meet in Rome, Italy on Thursday, June 14.
The 23-year-old Pellegrini demonstrated here astonishing efforts in the mediocre distance freestyle event and upset her challengers by snaring golf medal of the discipline.

Seventh position of the discipline was secured by Carli’s teammate, Alessia Filippi, who remained almost three seconds behind and clocked an effort of 4 minutes and 13.94 seconds.
Last finisher of the session was Pernille Blume of Denmark, who remained almost nine seconds behind and transpired on the finishing end with the timing of 4 minutes and 22.71 seconds for eighth position.
The position holders raked medals for their invincible efforts in the 400m event at the medal distribution ceremony of the championship, while the championship will conclude after the completion of all listed events.
