Palermo vice-president has revealed that the Rosanero have rejected all offers for the defender, as he is only interested in a move to a particular French club that has not asked about him as yet.
Palermo vice-president Guglielmo Micciche has revealed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Federico-Balzaretti-c13451 has his eyes set on Paris Saint-Germain, and has stressed that the Eagles have rejected all other offers for the defender because he does not want to leave his current outfit
for any other club.
The 30-year-old was part of Cesare Prandelli’s final squad for Euro 2012, and has attracted interest from the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775, Juventus and AC Milan in the summer transfer window.
However, the club has had to snub all interest in the player, because the Italian international has eyes only for the French outfit, which has recently acquired the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 from AC Milan in a multi-million dollar move.
Guglielmo Micciche was adamant that Palermo has a great desire to keep Balzaretti for the next season, and insisted that the player has explicitly told them that he will only leave his current outfit to move to the Parisians.
The Rosanero chief went on to reveal that such a move is not possible at the time, as the club has received many offers but not any from the French outfit.
While talking to Radio Kiss Kiss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, the Aquile executive said:
"We want to keep him, he always said that if he leaves Palermo, he will only join PSG. Right now, that is not doable because PSG have not asked about him. Other clubs have expressed an interest, but their offers were rejected, because if he is not going
to PSG then he will stay at Palermo."
Balzaretti has just one year left on his contract with the Eagles, and the club may have to let him go for nothing in the next season if they fail to sell him for something this time around.
However, Micciche was confident that Palermo will sit down with the player, and negotiate an extension to his agreement with the club.
"He is still on holiday after the Euros, but when he gets back, we will sit down with him and his agent to find an agreement over a new deal. There are no problems between [Palermo president Maurizio] Zamparini and Balzaretti's agent." He added.
