The Italian international has stated that he arrives at the Giallorossi at the right time, and has insisted that the club has great ambition for its future.

The Italian international had earned links with a lot of clubs since earning a place in Italy’s Euro 2012 squad, but chose to end up at the capital outfit for the next season.
Balzaretti stated that he has come to AS Roma at a time when he is at the peak of his playing career, and insisted that the maturity that he has gained over the years will help the cause of the club.
The Giallorossi defender went on to stress that the capital club is pulsating with ambition for its future, and stressed that his experiences can prove to be a big asset for his team.
While talking to the press, the former Palermo player said:
“I arrive here at the best time, an established player who is mature. I have had so many experiences; it is the right time for me to arrive, and also for Roma. This squad has great ambition.”
When asked about the reasons behind his choice of AS Roma from the many clubs that had come up with offers, the Italian international was adamant that there was never much confusion.

The Maggica defender also revealed that he wasted no time to say yes, when he was told that an offer had arrived from the Italian giants.
“Why did I pick Roma? There was some media confusion, but I have always been clear. When the President told me of the offer from Roma, I immediately said yes.”
It was reported that Balzaretti was inclined towards the offer from Paris Saint-Germain, as that would have given him the opportunity to join his family in the French capital.
