The Atalanta defender has stated that playing for Italy was a dream come true for him, and revealed how he over-thought things when in a scoring position in the England friendly.
Federico Peluso has voiced his delight at making his debut for Italy in the recent friendly against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, and has stated that he has always dreamed of playing for his country since his childhood.
The Azzurri played the Three Lions in a recent friendly played in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016, where they fielded six debutants and lost the match 2-1.
Peluso was one of the debutants of the match for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, and insisted that playing the game against England is a dream come true for him.
The Atalanta player was adamant that the memory of playing for Italy for the first time is something he will cherish for the rest of his life, and insisted that he will always be thankful to Cesare Prandelli for giving him that opportunity.
While talking to the press, the 28-year-old said:
“It’s a dream come true and it is everyone’s ambition to play for the Nazionale. Cesare Prandelli gave me that dream and I will always remember this night fondly.”
Peluso went on to express his unhappiness at losing the match, but maintained that they have taken a lot of positives from the defeat.
The Atalanta defender was adamant that he has been working really hard, and insisted that coming from a good season gave him confidence in the game.
The Italian international insisted that he hopes to continue doing well with his club, and insisted that he would love to come back and play for the Azzurri in the future as well.
“It’s a shame about the result, but we go home fairly happy. I work day by day and am coming from a good season. I hope to repeat that campaign with my club and, if the Coach calls, then I’ll try to be up to the task.”
Peluso went on to reveal that he had a lot of things going through his mind when he was in a scoring position for his team, and insisted that it was the thoughts that led him to miss the chance.
“Everything went through my head at that moment! Should I cross, shoot, will I score on my debut, oh my word I’m playing for Italy – I thought too much.” He added.
