Fee for transaction if no money in my checking account?

For my bank of america account, If i try to make a transaction with my debit card but there is no money in my checking account, will I be charged, or will it just not process?

YES.  And by that I mean BOTH options are true.  Depending on your bank, your account history, and how the merchant processes the transaction, it will either be denied, or processed and you will be charged an overdraft fee.  If the transaction is processed, you will probably be charged an DAILY fee until you bring the balance above zero.  Many banks will offer to waive the fees the FIRST time if you sign up for 'overdraft protection'.  That essentially means they charge your credit card for the overdraft and rename the 'overdraft fee' a 'convenience fee'.

  3. You should call Bank of America and ask them.  However, if you don't have enough money in your account, you should not attempt the transaction.
