I have a Singer portable, mfgd in 1941 (Model AG008912). After trying to sew over a very heavy seam, feed dogs started bumping against the chrome plate beneath the presser foot. (The plate the needle goes thru.)Also, when trying to catch bobbin thread, the thread from the needle wraps around the bobbin housing (??-not the bobbin case, but the stationary housing the bobbin case snaps into.) When the plate is removed, the feed dog moves freely, but the thread still tangles, as described.I tried replacing the needle, removing the feed dog (couldn't), switching the direction of the threaded bobbin, cleaning & oiling moving parts.Great if you could tell me how to fix this! The little machine is a gem. Thanks, Jeanette
