I need help with describing and writing a scene for a story..I want to describe a ex couple who have just had a recent intimate encounter and are slightly embarassed afterwards. Somehow they have managed to avoid seeing each other for the past three days.

The male character seeks out the female character and asks her to talk. Both characters have no intentions of getting back together due to their complicated history, yet they want to maintain a solid friendship. I really want to pick up on the emotions from both of the characters. Possibly hesitant, slight longing, nervousness, character actions. Please help if you can! Ideas examples and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Where should I go from here?

"Do you think maybe we could talk Sarah"

Sarah looks up at him hesitantly , but nods. They walk.

  1. Interesting story; I'm not sure that it can move in the direction you wish.  I've always held the belief that while it's quite possible to progress from friendship or social contact to physical intimacy, it's nearly impossible (yes, there are exceptions to all situations in life) to move in the opposite direction and return to a platonic plateau after being intimate.  I believe research bears this out.  In fact, your story seems to be such an example as your characters were intimate beyond the break-up.

The second link (below) deals with this issue also..please go to the bottom of the page with some interesting forum links on this topic.

I'm sorry I can't give you suggestions for plot development but I do hope my input helps a bit in some way.

    Best of luck to you!
