Question:

Feedback on Deutsche Bank Platinum Credit Card?

Hi, As I am travelling to Canada, I am wondering whether I should go for Deutsche Bank Platinum card for payments / availability of cash in case of an emergency (like losing my cash or traveller cheques). The one time fees they are quoting is 5000 INR.

If anybody has used this card abroad, please provide a feedback.

1. I believe cash withdrawals would be immediately charged with interest, but probably internet or POS transactions won't be within the due date. Please confirm.

2. Any other charges (e.g. on Cash Withdrawals or other transactions in Canadian Dollar). If I pay in CAD on a website, will INR to CAD conversion charges apply?

3. Is payment through my ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank Debit accounts safe and easy?. Has anybody faced any problems with this? E.g. your account being debited and payment not reaching Deutsche Bank?

4. Any other problems that you may have faced.

  1. i don't have that card.

first of all i will tell you something.

now a days all the banks are giving away credit cards free for life time, most of the banks.

then why on the earth you want to go pay 5K for a card membership.

if you want a platinum card try HDFC, they are free for lifetime.

or try American Express is the most powerful card in the world.

    I have one myself.

they charge you minimum amount for membership worth paying.

and they are accepted all over the world. including Canada.

    your question no. 1

Yes interest rate is applicable on withdrawals from the day one any where from 2.45% to 3.26% by most of the banks.

internet transaction it is consider as a sale so you get the credit period offered by the bank anywhere from 45 to 62 days by most of the banks.

    Your question no. 2.

NO conversion charges will apply but the conversion will be applicable according to the date you made the transaction ( rate of the CAD on that day).

    Your question no. 3

yes it is safe and easy unless you lose your card or disclose your card details to somebody. As all the Card (both credit and debit card) issuing banks are interconnected via Mastercard and Visa. therefore it is fairly safe. so you don't have to worry about payment not reaching any banks.

    Your question no. 4

Please prefer cash most of the times during transaction in foreign countries. as you have a pretty sharp crooks then in India.

don't use credit card in shabby or shady looking place. you have a chance of misuse.

Hope that will solve all your problems

    have a pleasant  journey.

    Bye.
