Feeder Goldfish having a p**p-fest?!?

My goldfish is having a major p**p-fest for the past 3 days. My cousin, who has been keeping fish for many years, says this is abnormal. Does anybody have a solution or a reason for this 'phenomenon'?

Feed them just once a day.

You must be feeding them wayyyyy too much! You only need to feed them a couple of flakes every other day! Their not really bothered about food, it's just there to keep them healthy and well! If you overfeed them you'll have all sorts of problems in the tank like debris and the tank will get very dirty! Only feed how much it will eat in 2 mins! No more than that... i made this mistake in thinking it might die of starvation! BUT THEY DO NOT!!! So i think you're minor problem is overfeeding!

Well their digestive track is relatively simple. What goes in must come out. Haha eww. Goldfish are p**p factories that is for sure. I would cut back their feeding to one time a day and only the amount they can eat in a few minutes. Also make sure to have a variety in their diet so they don't get constipated. If they get constipated then they have what looks like a swim bladder problem, but it's actually because they are backed up. So feed them some veggies like de-shelled peas, lettuce, mandarins, along with flakes and pellets. Also give them a protein filled treat once a week like bloodworms, frozen or freeze dried will do.

lol my gold fish p**p like crazy too it started eversince i brought them home but maybe your cousin was feeding them too much
