  1. Hi,

    Congratulations on your new baby!

I own a 'tiel but he is fully grown and i only got him when he was already weened. However in the absence of any other advice I'd suggest looking at the Cockatiel Cottage site, it's got loads of helpful info there. The address is: http://www.cockatielcottage.net/

Good luck with your new baby!

  2. Your baby does not have to be fed right away.  Look at his belly, if you see a yellowish bulg then he is still absorbing the yold from the egg.  When this is all gone then begin to feed him.  I  kn ow it says every 2 hrs, but make certain that the food from the last feeding is all gone.  Feeding new food before the old is gone can many times cause sour crop.  Even if it takes another half hour beyond 2 hrs your baby wont die.  Make certain that your baby has a non slippery floor to stand on, this way he wont develope spraddle legs
