Feeding frogs crickets?

Okay so this is kind of a silly question but how do I feed my frogs crickets? You see the bottom of the tank is water and the crickets just drown if I drop them in. What is the best way to prevent the crickets from drowning?

  1. feed your frog in a different container.

like a cricket keeper or something, or a smaller tank.

this will also ensure you know how much they are eating, and you can dust them without it all rubbing off in your substrate!

    good luck :D

  2. feed in differant container

  3. There are two things you can do, both are pretty simple. One does involve some dead crickets though, they're just stupid though. Most bugs know how to swim or get out of the water, not crickets though. Anyway....

First thing would be get a big decoration that doesn't go in the water. Anything works; a rock, some wood, moss, gravel, or a decoration from a store. All you need is for it to be dry. Then just dump your crickets on there. Some will jump off and die, so be prepared for that. But most should stay on the decoration, and stay alive until your frogs eat them.

Option two involves less dead crickets. Simply go to a pet store a buy a critter keeper. They're those little plastic containers with the lids. Then all you have to do is wrangle your frogs and put the in the container. Dump in the crickets and close the lid. After about 15 minutes put your frogs back in the tank. Don't forget about them, you don't want them drying up. Any extra crickets can stay in the container, add a piece of apple or potato for food/water and they'll stay alive until next feeding. If you find you continuously have lots of extra crickets after feeding just cut down on how many you buy. Hope I could help!

  4. u cant go wrong with flies, crickets, and grass hoppers.

  5. Turn the frogs cage into half land area half aquatic area. We had frogs in the past and the frogs would hop unto the land area and chase and eat the crickets. To make the land area we gathered a bunch of rocks from the beach, scrubbed them clean of all the salt, and then layered them on top of each other. Then we added artificial plants and a fake log hide and they love it. Plus it was interesting to watch good luck

  6. u can buy tongs and also buy dead crickets but they still work. use the tongs and put the cricket infront of the frogs face it will eat just fine.

  7. u should man they eat that very well

  8. I would suggest putting a good sized rock in the tank, the crickets could sit there and the frog would like it too!

  9. use  feeding tongs

  10. make a place were the crickets would rather be like a grassy place of use jelly like water so the crickets won't drown aask a pet store.
