I been feeding my king one hopper once a week. Is this sufficient enough? He's not undernourished at all, I was just wondering. This is my first snake so I'm still a little curious as to how to care for it. I have had it since December. How much and how often do you feed your king?

  1. Well one hopper once a week is just fine but you might when to feed him a little more like maybe 2-3 hoppers a week. Or you could go up a size like a medium mouse once a week would do great!

I feed my king snake a large mouse once a week and he is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet long.

If anything you can just check out the link below =]

Hope this could help you a bit!

you can get much information in this website, If you will check anyone blue link in website

  3. If you've had it since December, I'd be willing to bet that he's ready for a larger prey item. You might consider moving up to rat pups/crawlers or to larger mice. Your feeding schedule (every 7 days) sounds fine, but you might want to tweak the size of the meal.

  4. It's best to be feeding it a mouse the same size or 1 1/2 times the widest part of its girth every 5-7 days until its older, then it should be once every 2 weeks or so! hope this has helped, good luck and enjoy!

  5. by the information you gave, the only advice that really can be given is that feeding it once a week is good. Now depedning on the size of your king, one hopper may not be enough or it may be fine. We would need to know your king snakes length to get an idea of what prey it may be ready for. As someone else said in regards to snake size and prey size, that is a good way to determine prey it may be ready for.
