Feeding my fish insects

Question

There are these small mosquito-type insects flying around my room and are very easy to catch.would wild insect be safe to feed to my guppies or do they carry infection. i live in South Africa (we don't have malaria here though)

i think they may be alright,livebearers love them.

It's fine but it will make your tank dirty. Fish are scavengers.

I feed mosquitoes to my betta. Good protein diet. Don't worry about malaria. Fish are not hosts to the parasite and besides, they will be killed in the stomach by the digestive juices.
