Feeding my goldfish?

Question

How long can a goldfish go without food?

There will be no one to feed my fish for five days.

Will it be ok?

for a week with no food will be okay as long good water condition just make sure the filter is working and do water change two days before you leave.  Or you can buy an autofeeder sold in petshops.

If you are going on vacation then give it extra food the day you leave, I asked somebody about that at the pet store. It worked for me.

5 days should be fine, they scavange around through the substrate anyway.....if you have plants, they will eat them :-)  a good feed up for 1 - 2 days prior should suffice.

we buy a feeding block, they are not expensive and they gradually release bits of food into the water and you can get various ones depending on the length of time you are away.

A goldfish can go for 5 days without food. if i were you i would give it food that is really good. like fatty foods with alot of vitimins thats wat i do. your goldfish will be fine. all it needs is proper light

Best to get someone to come in and feed your fish but 5 days would be fine, a goldfish can go 2 weeks without food (dont recommed you try though lol)

Dont get an automatic feeder what ever you do, ive heard horror stories about them, give them food before you go and as soon as you get back, everything should be find

Goldfish are very hardy fish and can go up to a couple of weeks without food, but they can then turn on each other when hungry!

Why not get some holiday fish food...it's slow release and should keep them happy until you get back.

use a holiday feeding block, you can geet these ones tht slowly dissolve and realize food ovre the period o a week, v.good things!!

You are more likely to kill a goldfish over feeding than not feeding regularly. A goldfish can go without food for two weeks no problem.

Better to change water frequently,Never remove all the water when changing water, leave about a third of original water in the bowl/tank
