  1. I noticed several posts that said not to feed lettuce to piggies. That is partially incorrect....dark leafed and curly lettuces are very good for your piggie. The only lettuce that should not be fed is Iceburg, due to the high water/low nutritional value.

Here are some links that may help:

    Good luck!

  2. Guinea pigs love leafy veggies like romaine lettuce, green leaf lettuce, parsley, cilantro, spinach, and etc. Also they like carrots, cucumbers, peppers, and etc. You should feed your guinea pig a cup of veggies per day. As for the fruit you should only feed as much as a couple a week. Some fruits you can feed them is grapes,bananas,oranges,watermelon,apples... etc. You can feed your guinea pigs almost all the veggies and fruits but some stuff you need to stay away from like iceberg lettuce.

  3. feed them whatever you want EXCEPT FOR LETTUCE!! IT IS VERY BAD FOR THEM!! MY FRIENDS GUINEA PIG DIED FROM EATING LETTUCE!!!

  4. my guinea pigs love to eat romaine lettuce and kale (the greener and crisper the better)!

they also love eating apples and peppers.

i hear that tomatoes are not the best food to give them.

ice burg lettuce is a huge no-no!

i also on rare occasions give them a little bread.

remember that guinea pig's tummy is smaller than ours and it isn't as tolerable.

oh and make sure that u give them LOTS of TIMOTHY HAY!

they love that and it is good for their every growing teeth!

My pigs love grapes, carrots, lettuce, romaine, grape tomatoes, parsley, cabbage, and the occasional apple. :)

[DO NOT GIVE BANANA--unless once a month and a very SMALL portion--they cause gas and can kill your piggy.]

P.S. Don't give bread and milk either. ;)

  6. My guinea pig really likes carrots and she LOVES dandelion leaves (make sure they are clean and not fertilized though).

  7. My guinea pig does not like fruits, but absolutley loves lettuce, celery and carrots.

  8. apples, bananas, broccoli, carrots, baby carrots, celery, cucumbers, cooked dandelion greens, cooked kale, kiwi, Romaine lettuce, Cooked mustard greens, oranges, parsley, green pepper, red pepper, raspberries, spinach, red tomatoes.

these foods shoulld never be given to guinea pigs.

chocolate(duh) onions, iceburg lettuce, any shelled  nuts or seeds, avocado pits+flesh surrounding pit.

  9. We give ours raw (but washed) apples, carrots, oranges, and cabbage.  He is doing quite well.

  10. letuce isnt great for them, because too much gives them diarrhoea and has no nutritional value. carrots are full of vitiman c which the need, and they love brocoli stems, cucumber and califlour leaves!! (ooh yum...) tomatoes are also a favourite aswell as melon skins =]
