Feel Like Dancing triumphs in Bahrain Trophy – Horseracing News
Feel Like Dancing did a splendid job in the Bahrain Trophy (Group 3) at Newmarket in England on Thursday, July 11, 2013.
The three-year-old colt was not given the best odds for victory, but was still considered to be a threat to his rivals in the all important competition. He entered the race with a starting price of 3 to 1 and was aggressive right from the start of the proceedings. He did not allow the leaders to get away with ease and got into the lead, entering the final furlong.
From then onwards, things were pretty close and no one could really tell whether who would finish on top of the table in the end. The top-three finishers were really pressing hard, but Feel Like Dancing was the one, who ended up being ahead by a neck distance in the end.
The winning trainer John Gosden was really happy with the outcome of the race and said, “The horse has done it very nicely. He had good form from Royal Ascot. Masked Marvel won this and the Leger and we won it last year and wanted to go for the Leger, but it didn't work out - let's hope we can get there this year. He's a young horse and is still learning.”
On the other hand, William Buick also praised his winning partner in the Bahrain Trophy. However, he claimed that there is a long way to go for the young stallion, who has got the potential to take part in some major competitions.
The seasoned rider added, “He's still inexperienced, but I thought he did it well. He battled on gamely and fought them all off. He's going to improve as the season progresses and could be quite exciting towards the backend. He doesn't need to get much beyond this trip, but will definitely get another furlong.”
Feel Like Dancing has participated in just five races until now and it is clear that he is a much improved runner compared to what he was at the start of this year. He has succeeded in a couple of races whereas finished as a runner up once. It will be interesting to see whether he delivers consistent results in the future or not.
