Question:

Feeling about Chinese gymnasts...?

I don't know if anyone feels this way but i feel those Chinese gymnasts, as INDIVIDUALS were being over-pressured by the country/crowd/coaches! I feel bad for them tho! But at least, the whole team won the gold last time, and one girl won the bronze today! Near the end of today's competition, there's a little sadness on the Chinese girl's face! I mean even the other Chinese girl fell today during her competition, she didn't get any embraces/support from her chinese coaches.

  1. I wanted the chinese to get second. but i want Nastia Liukin. ooo i want her.

  2. yes-- the chinese gymnasts don't seem to get a whole lotta love from there coaches or team. they did seem to get the occasional push in the scoring-- and ALANA j -- you should stop with the hating of Americans. it's all over the news that the chinese gymnasts (women) were quite possibly underage. and that came from past interviews at championships in Beijing.

  3. Russians deserve the gold but looks like there's a lot of pressure coming from the americans to the judges,,,,so

  4. Well China didn't medal in the Individual All-Around in the worlds and being 3rd is pretty d**n good.

Anyways...US has the best girls and China has the best boys  :D

[[edit]] China didn't pressure YANG Yilin to have gold because in the history of Individual All-Around; China wasn't too successful of going for Gold. They just want her to medal and mission accomplished.

  5. their sad because they know their coaches or some Chinese goverment official is going to beat them if they don't win.

  6. cheaters!!!there using a girl that's 13.

  7. They tried to give the gold to the Chinese just like in the team competition, but in the eyes of everyone the chinese did not even deserve the bronze. The Americans were almost flawless, but if they made the same number of mistakes the chinese made they would not have won. It is truly amazing that they won even though they were not playing on an even or equal playing field.

  8. Its cause they were instructed to lose =)

    jkjk

Nobody likes to lose but it takes a winner to lose with dignity

  9. They are being pressured beyond belief. They are on their home turf, and everyone there is cheering for them to win. The Chinese take great pride in their gymnastics and it is a big deal for them if they don't win. These girls have to thrive on the pressure to preform well, since they just toddlers they have been pushed to the limits of preforming well.

  10. I feel sorry for them, too.  Some  of those girls are put into training when they are three years old.  They are basically taken from their families.  I don't think it is fair to call the girls cheaters, but the Chinese government is cheating.  Those girls are under tremendous pressure and have no control over their own lives.  It's really, really sad.

There's NO way those girls are 16.

  11. HOW MANY SORE GRAPES ARE THERE?

  12. I think the girls are very talented and sweet.  I kind of feel sorry for the younger ones in away, it must be a little weird to have to pretend to be a different age than they are.  I wonder how long they will have to keep it up?  I know there is a lot of debate about the reason for the age limit and frankly, I'm not informed enough to have an opinion on the rule, but I think it would be weird to have someone from my government encourage me to do that.  I teach kids that are just a little younger than some of the gymnasts probably are, so it's easy see them like the kids that I work with.  They seem mostly very happy, though, so that's good.  I hope they are enjoying themselves as much as they seem to be!  I'm cheering for the US, of course, but I'm definately enjoying the competition.

I wish the judging seemed a little more even.  That would make it easier to maintain the positive and friendly attitude.  I do think that they earned their gold over-all and I'm very glad they got that.  The judging tonight seems a lot less consistant however....
