Feeling sorta guilty..?

Okay heres the thing. I have 4 pet hampsters, Cheeseball, GlueStick, Crayola, and WormyNods -- unique names I know, my 5 year old neice named them. Anyways the other day (I live in Miami FL) I was out tanning by my pool and I allowed to hampsters to play in their ball out there, it's a really large ball so they all go in together. Well they accidently rolled into the pool, and really I didnt think they would sink, so when I heard to splash I kind of ignored it. When I looked over again the ball was sinking but I had just had my hair done, and couldnt risk the cholorine turning it green. I feel horrible, what should I tell my neice? The truth.. what?

no pets should ever been in one of those ball toys, they have poor ventilation, toes can get stuck and break, their potty stays in the ball and they live in it. if its hot out, they can cook in them!

tell them to care more for the animals than vanity......

then dont bother having any more pets.

As much as i hope this is reaction topic I would tell your neice th truth about how you heard them fall in the pool but let them drown because your apperance is more important to you. then any other living creature.

PS i suggest you never get another hamster in your life if you treat living things this way.

I kind of agree with laura--. mainly because, if my pet was sinking, i wouldn't care if my hair would turn green or not, i would save them without any remorse.

You are in quite the predicament.  Cute names.  First of all, your hamsters should not have been outside at all especially in Miami where it is so hot.  The can't take the heat.  How could  you ignore the splash when they fell into the pool and then not get them when you saw that the ball was sinking.  The chlorine alone would have killed them if not the drowning.  You just had your hair done?  I would have been in that pool in a heartbeat.  If you felt horrible you would have rescued them the second the ball went into the ball.  Perhaps you shouldn't have anymore hamsters.  You probably feel horrible because of your niece.  I would just tell her that you were outside and that you wanted the hamsters near you so you put them in their ball and then they accidently rolled into the ball and by the time you got them it was too late.  Good luck.

firstly you should have been more responsible and shouldnt have put them out in the boiling sun anyway, why couldnt you  let them in the ball inside? secondly by the stupid decision you made of taking them outside you should have at least kept an eye on them at all times!! and finally 4 lives should have been MUCH MUCH more important than your freekin hair!! at least you could change it and get it done again whereas what happened to your hamsters is irreversible!!
