Will you come, Brother

Kiss me now, oh coming Angel

Let me wrap around your wings

Let me bathe in silence soft

To wash away my hurting soul

I wish to see the end of ways

The end of pain, the winter rays

The glees and stares and hateful words

I wish the end of all of this

Let us fly away from this

Please now, kiss, my tender lips

Once what was will never more

The pit is blue, an endless low

For they have killed our sister Joy

And who would really shed a tear

Even think of me at all

Would they lay a crimson rose

Upon mine, a nameless stone

So why should I stay in death

When you can take my life away

  1. this is what I call poetic therapy - and NOT poetry.  It's great to write these, but it's best to keep them to yourself.   Some of my best poems are poetic therapy..  I write them because it helps me express my pain.  But I don't publish these.  It took  a long time for me to realize that people really don't want to read endless acounts of your suffering, loneliness, rejection, depression and personal pain, they just don't.  I wish they did, I'd be rich.  but they don't.  editors really don't want to read this stuff.  and I quit trying,  but I write them and I keep them to myself.  It's a good thing to do but they're your own personal thing.  The poetry that I publish is more along the line of an outsider taking a picture using a camera.   you take a picture of what someone else might be feeling - not how YOU are feeling.  For whatever reason this is just how it is.   I wish the world were different too.

  2. it has a timelss quality to it and I agree with the poster who described it as having surprising images.

It is a wonderful nearly-final draft!

keep writing!  it is your angel's way of telling you to keep doing what makes you feel good!

  3. This is excellent...it has surpising images, original, in many places...but, though written out of depression, you have written Light and hope in many places....your hope shines.

    Good Morning!

  7. Thank you for sharing with us such a deep, tender, heart-felt poem.

I, too, am inspired to write poetry in my most extreme moods -be it high or low. Some of the greatest creative minds had written for us, what are now, the most treasured works of their tortured, troubled souls.

Your poetry gives me hope and inspiration.
