Question:

Feeling very depressed again

I had bad depression as a teenager and used to self harm, I have been alot better for the last 4-5 years and come off the anti depressants, but lately I feel really low again. I have been really bad tempered and cant be bothered talking to anyone or making an effort with anything, feel really tearful and helpless. I dont really want to go back on tablets, I'm nowhere near as bad as before and havent thought about self harming or anything and I know that the future isn't necessarily going to be bad - is this feeling likely to pass or should I get help? and is there anything I can do to lift my mood without medication?

  1. exercise and i do agree with doing something you really want to do or having something to focus on. how about a course, meet some new people have something to work towards. I would go and see the doctor and ask to see a counceller, someone who you can tell how you really feel and discuss what things could help.

It will pass but not if you dont make the effort, its easy to feel down and not bother with things but dont give up trying to beat it

I like having me time when im really down, i buy beauty things and spend a good hour plucking my eyebrows, doing a face mask putting on my make up all these things are what make me feel better and then i want to go out because i feel good.

  2. Depression is caused by the lack of serotonin in your brain which is caused by the lack of omega 3 fatty acids in your brain.A deficiency that most of the humans on this planet have.

Start the omega 3 diet.I have researched omega 3 acids for 2 years and performed a very successful experiment on myself and few of my volunteer friends.Few months of the omega 3 diet i cured my stress[and/or depression] problems permanently and significantly raised my intelligence, improved memory, sight, reflexes[and many other known and unknown benefits]and without any drugs or supplements in the form of pills.

Take two table spoons of grinded flaxseed[rich with omega 3 and cheap]a day[with a glass of water] and in a few months you will start to notice significant improvement in your mental health[you will become more psychologically stable, among other things].Use a coffee grinder.Whole seeds cannot be digested by the hydrochloric acid in our stomach only grinded seeds.A fact and not a assumption. You have nothing to loose only gain by it.There are many articles on the internet about the omega 3.2 years ago before i started the diet i did not feel so stable or happy how i feel today.

Flax is the best source of ALA omega 3 fatty acid which our body converts to more important fatty acids called DHA and EPA.For the efficient conversion to take place, foods containing a large amount of the following nutrients must be consumed along with the flaxseed:C,B3,B6 [vitamins],zink and Magnesium [minerals].I recommend 3 table spoons of flax with 100 grams[or more if to your liking] of almonds,1 kiwi every day.[do not take more then 3 table spoons of flax because large amounts can cause intestinal gases which can cause abdominal pain and/or constipation. If three spoons causes abdominal discomfort lower the dosage to 2 table spoons of grinded flax and elevate it to 3 table spoons after your body adapts to high fiber content].The flaxseed itself is not important. The omega 3 that are inside them are.

  3. Don't worry, be happy! :)

  4. Find a creative outlet. If that doesn't help, then keep asking yourself "What would make me happy right now?" until you get a positive answer, it'll give you a headache but keep doing it. When you discover what you really want, try very hard to make it happen, like eat a tub of chocolate ice cream and watch a soppy movie that makes you cry, then spend 4 hours in a hot bath reading Anne Rice's Vampire chronicles. That could take your mind off it and eventually make you happy. Sometimes pills aren't the answer, One doesn't need to dope themselves so they can be like everyone else. The action of taking a pill can make you feel more ill sometimes.

  5. do a youtube search for "comedy store"

but to be honest, if youre very depressed AND you cant be bothered talking to a counsellor/therapist AND you dont want to take medication, it makes getting better pretty tricky

  6. If you would like my advice, you should do something that you REALLY REALLY REALLY want to do. SO GET SAVING NOWWW!!!

  10. Simple steps to overcome depression :

    1. Have a bathe

    2. Then meditate - just sit calm with closed eyes. watch your thoughts

( whatever it may be ) - atleast for 30 minutes

( Depression is the result of thinking about yourself and what others will think about youself only. And the opposite is : Thinking about others. See the pain of others and if possible help them.)

    - Good Day!

  11. your doing the right thing by airing your depression .Try to talk to close associates and family .Keep your temper in check hope you can stay off medcation .Best wishes to you

  12. Talk to your doctor andget some advice on non-medical ways of intervening.  Keep your appointments so s/he knows how you're doing and if you need to get back on the meds, do so.

  13. Okay, I know this may sound cliche....but honestly you could talk to your closest friend or family your mother perhaps? For me personally I have done cutting and it's not a happy experience...sometimes I do want to go back to that habit of cutting but I remind myself that it won't make anything better. I do even get helpless as you feel and bad tempered, you could listen to some calming songs that's my favourite way of thinking things out. :) I hope you'll feel better. Just remember be happy! You do only have one life, live it like there's no tomorrow!

You  havent mentioned the duration of your symptoms coz if its something that has just been there for a few days, it might just pass but if its lasted more then two weeks then u need professional help.
