Feelings Towards Old Age?

I get really mad when someone disrespects an elderly person. We should be more considerate towards thier feelings and more affectionate towards them. Life is not only about staying young. The media and film industy only care about the young people because they're appealing to the eye! Once a person reaches old age they just change them like clothes and get new celebrities. There are products coming out everyday to make one look young. I have always believed old age is a peaceful process of love, grace, and beauty coming from the heart. Besides, no one stays young for all thier lives. My question towards the young is: What do you feel about this (situation)? My questions towards the elderly: How do you feel? Are too many people disrespecting you? Are you enjoying yourselves in this youth-obsessed world?

Someone said " Getting old is a drag!" But not for people who have a young heart, they're young forever!

Thanks! I can't help but notice that the elderly actors are some of the bes

  1. well, you seem to be preparing your next step already.

well, its all about the rush the young people in the world are in.I always wounder where they are rushing to, apart from making money, then what next, drugs and then, what next, death -remember these are young people we are talking about.

Times, i believe have changed greatly.young People of today only Think of making money without considering the out come.that is why you find that they feel the old can not keep up with their speed. The old treasure, legacy, whereas the young treasure money.

So my dear, if you still have that respect for the old, keep it and pass it on, and also keep spreading the message.

    Thanks for the concern

  2. Opposite to youth you have more answers than questions.

  3. Just keep getting up & giving your seat to an older person, saying please, thank you & holding the door.  Volunteer at an senior center and it will catch on.  You too will be older some day. -great question!

  4. It doesn't bother me, I figure the alternative is worse. haha.

  5. Now some of us older folk might like to take a few verbal swings at a lot of other folk. We do not all want to be painted into an overly respectful corner so that we can never lay a verbal hiding on someone.

Being perfect, of course, I never feel that urge. Or perhaps it is just my declining testosterone level.

I think I know why advertisers pay so much attention to young and newly aged. These are people their studies tell them they can change buying behavior. We old folks may be sitting on a million dollars and not be swayed a bit by most advertising. It takes less cleverness with the young and newly old.

Now, I will not take offense if you want to be courteous to me, but try spreading it around. We seniors do not need all of it.

  6. Speaking as someone who is in between young and old, I thing you are absolutely correct. What so many young people don't understand is that for many people, the only thing that really gets old is what you see on the outside. I feel exactly the same on the inside as I did 25 years ago. It's only when I look in the mirror that I think, "OMG! Who is that?!?!" It's not that I think I'm unattractive, it's just that I don't look like the person I see in my mind.

Getting old is only a drag if you let it be. It's all mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.

I may get older but, I'll never be "old".
