Feisty Champion gets the call in Ladbrokes Bet On Your Mobile Handicap at Wolverhampton
The J. W. Hills-trained, Feisty Champion, was quite decent last twice, and gets the vote in the Ladbrokes Bet On Your Mobile Handicap, taking place at Wolverhampton on Friday, August 31st.
Although the 3-year-old is yet to open his account this season, the form he showed last couple of times makes him a solid contender. After showing his magic respectively at Nottingham and Goodwood, the son of Captain Rio went to Epsom, where he was sixth
in a close battle.
It was a blanket finish in the Will Young Live At Epsom 12/7/12 Handicap (Betfair 10 Furlong Flat Series Qualifier), and Feisty Champion missed the fifth place only by a neck’s distance. He was an eye-catcher at Doncaster, when sharing the podium with Calculated
Risk and Mistress Of Rome.
Despite a not-so-impressive beginning, the 7-2 joint favourite did well to keep himself prominent. He was mighty impressive in the final stages, but the leading pair proved too good for him. As a result, he missed the runner-up spot by one and a half lengths.
Confidence is not going to be an issue for Feisty Champion, as he was not disgraced on previous two occasions. He just needs to give his best shot in order to prevail today.
The class 5 meeting has attracted 11 entries, including Feisty Champion. The competition is for a cash prize of £2,264, and will be started off at 20:50 GMT.
Any Given Dream will also earn decent odds, following his excellent victory here early in the month. The 3-year-old made a couple of below par outings at the start of his career, but finally got the conditions of his choice last time.
He was an easy 1½-length winner in the 32Red Casino Median Auction Maiden Stakes. The 7-4 favourite performed well right through the race, making no mistake whatsoever.
Stamina will be the key today, as the event will be held over a long distance of 1-mile, 4 furlong and 50 yards. Feisty Champion’s consistent run has been quite impressive over the last few months, and an extra effort will be enough for him to grab the glory.
Good luck to all the runners.
