Felicity Johnson talks about the Olympic Games
Felicity Johnson, the English golfer had a chat about the Olympic Games that will be held in the Great Britain.
Johnson is an enthusiastic sportsperson, who likes various sports and track activities. Her favourite remains golf, but she is also very interested in other sports.
When asked about her favourite Olympic sport, she replied without hesitation that it was the 100 metre sprint. She also mentioned her interest in rowing and other water sports.
After this question, the answer to next question was no surprise.
The question was about her favourite Olympian. Johnson answered with Sir Steve Redgrave. Given her interest in rowing and canoeing, it was very clear that Johnson is a fan of the acclaimed British rower.
Sir Redgrave won five gold medals consecutively from 1984 to 2000. This is exactly the kind of record that will attract a golfer of Johnson’s temperament. Many experts consider Sir Redgrave to be the greatest British athlete ever.
Felicity Johnson is a realist who loves her country dearly. When asked about the country that will win the most titles, she said without hesitation that the USA will win the most medals.
She added that given the advantage of the home ground, the English players are expected to perform well and win a couple of medals more.
When asked about golf and the Olympics, Johnson was a bit vague and said that it will be hard to determine the effects of such a huge change on golf.
She was, however, very hopeful that the general interest in golf would go up as a huge Olympic Games audience will view the golf event.
Johnson has an uneasy year so far. Her performance has appeared to be uneven with patches of good golf alternating with patches of missing the cut. Johnson played her best game of the year at Gold Coast RACV Australian Ladies Masters. She tied for the sixth
position, with a score of 273.
In the recent South African Women’s’ Open, Johnson appeared to be on top of her game. She played a brilliant 219 points and tied for the ninth position.
