Felipe Contepomi thinks Los Pumas preparation crucial for 2011 Rugby World Cup – Rugby News
Buenos Aires born Argentinean Rugby Union player and utility back, Felipe Contepomi, has expressed his hope that their upcoming pre-World Cup preparation game against the Wales national Rugby Union side will help Los Pumas to generate the required momentum for their World Cup title campaign. The 33-year-old Contepomi made the comments on Tuesday, July 26.
Argentina’s national rugby union team, also known as ‘Los Pumas’, are one of the 20 teams, which will participate in the 2011 Rugby World Cup (RWC) tournament.
Wales will host the Pumas on August 20 in Cardiff City.
Contepomi said, “It's the key game for us in our preparation for the first game against England and it will be crucial for us, that we have the opportunity to play a great team as well.”
Contepomi added that the match against the Wales side will help the team to assess their fitness level and preparations for the World Cup in a tough fixture. He added that a good performance in the match puts the team into the right sort of winning momentum that could prove to be pivotal in their 2011 RWC campaign.
Contepomi added that both teams will be looking forward to deliver their best performance in their August 20 encounter at Millennium stadium.
